About the Institute

Our Mission

The mission of the Institute for Space Law & Policy is to aid in creating the legal regime of free markets and property rights that will allow private enterprise, supported by sound public policy, to open the space frontier to all mankind.

Our Approach

To achieve this vision, what is required today is a think tank capable of performing rigorous analysis of current legal and policy obstacles to the opening of the frontier. By proposing realistic solutions to pressing problems, supported by a powerful team of experts, we will bring the future closer to fruition one step at a time.

The Institute is strictly non-partisan and takes no institutional positions on pending legislation or other policy questions. Though we have not yet been granted tax-exempt status by the I.R.S., we are registered as a non-profit corporation and will strictly observe all the requirements imposed by law on all 501(c)(3) organizations. Our role is not to advance specific legislation, but to enhance the policy process and inform the public.
